Dr. Tidman is the founder, president and CEO of RBRA. His impressive resume reveals a multi-disciplinary, multi-faceted professional.
Prior to pursuing his interest in medicine, Dr. Tidman was an engineer. He obtained his Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering with honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, GA).
Dr. Tidman's perfect 4.0 GPA in Physics earned him many distinctions and memberships including Sigma Gamma Tau and Tau Kappa Epsilon (Aerospace Engineering Honor Societies). It was during these formative college days as an engineering student that Dr. Tidman decided to pursue Medicine.
In his senior year, Dr. Tidman carried out a research project looking into blood flow dynamics in normal versus atherosclerotic patients: a multi-disciplinary subject indeed, bridging his interests in engineering physics and medicine. Dr. Tidman later carried out pre-clinical training at the Medical College of Georgia (Augusta, GA) and obtained his medical degree from Case Western School of Medicine (Cleveland, OH) in Allopathic Medicine.
Dr. Tidman received many accolades, not all of which were for his outstanding academic achievements (Lang Award) but also for his contribution to the medical community (CIBA Award).
Dr. Tidman completed his residency training in Family Practice at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. It was a few years into his medical profession when Dr. Tidman founded RBRA and devoted part of his time to clinical research.
15 years and over 100 clinical trials studies later, Dr. Tidman is a distinguished principal investigator and creative thinker. He is co-owner, CEO and on the Board of Directors for RiverStone MD, P.C. Dr. Tidman holds privileges at Fannin Regional Hospital (Blue Ridge, GA) where he has held the position of Chief of Staff, and Piedmont Mountainside Medical Center (Jasper, GA).
Dr. Tidman is board certified in Family Medicine and holds professional memberships including the American Academy of Family Physicians (Fellow), Georgia Academy of Family Physicians and the Medical Association of Georgia.
Dr. Eblaghie obtained his B.Sc. in Integrated Science with a focus in the Life Sciences from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, BC, Canada) graduating with first class standing. His academic achievements translated to several scholarships and membership to the Golden Key International Honours Society.
Dr. Eblaghie's early research experience as an undergraduate student fueled his interest in pursuing a graduate degree, eventually obtaining his doctorate degree from the University of Dundee's renowned College of Life Sciences (Scotland). Under the mentorship of then advisor Professor Cheryll Tickle (distinguished for her contribution to the field of embryonic limb development), Dr. Eblaghie enjoyed success in research early, completing his PhD in a remarkable 2 years and 5 months, resulting in 3 publications in prestigious journals which include Cell Biology and Developmental Biology. His PhD work would produce 6 publications in all. At the age of 24 and with a PhD to his name, Dr. Eblaghie took to further training as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the laboratory of Professor and Department Chair Brigid L. M. Hogan (Duke University): a prominent scientist known for her contribution to the study of lung biology, stem cell biology and to a class of molecules know as BMPs (Bone Morphogenetic Proteins).
Dr. Eblaghie's training continued with a second postdoctoral appointment as research Fellow at the Albert Eye Research Institute (Duke University) with Director of Research Dr. Fulton Wong, PhD. At AERI, Dr. Eblaghie's work exploring the inner workings of mouse retinas exposed him to the clinical aspect of basic science research, and ultimately to a change in career path focusing primarily on clinical research management.
Dr. Eblaghie's professional membership includes the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).
Dr. Koay obtained her B.A. from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) graduating with highest academic distinction and high honors in Sociology.
Her impressive academic record merited prestigious awards and membership to honors societies including the International Sociology Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Delta.
Dr. Koay's training pedigree include Washington University (St. Louis, MO) where she did medical school, and Duke University (Durham, NC) where she undertook a combined residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
As a medical student, Dr. Koay earned honors in General Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, VA Medicine, Anesthesiology, Orthopedics Surgery, and General Surgery.
Her clinical interests have taken her to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, GA, where she researched HIV/AIDS in China.
Dr. Koay joined RiverStone MD, P.C. in July 2007 and is a sub-investigator for RBRA.
Dr. Koay has privileges at Fannin Regional Hospital (Blue Ridge, GA), is board certified in Pediatrics, and holds professional memberships which include the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Roof obtained his B.Sc. from Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA) and M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia (Augusta, GA). Dr. Roof did his internship and residency training in Family Practice at The Medical Center in Columbus, GA. For 25 years, Dr. Roof ran his own private practice in Blue Ridge, GA, before joining a division of RiverStone MD, P.C. as partner and co-owner.
Dr. Roof joined RBRA in 2000 as research sub-investigator and he has carried out more than 80 clinical trials studies to date. His clinical interests have included: COPD, bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, diabetes, hypertension, allergy, osteoarthritis and depression.
Dr. Roof is Board Certified in Family Practice and holds professional memberships with Georgia Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Roof is a great contributor to the community having volunteered as Teaching Staff at Mercer School of Medicine.
Dr. Roof served on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce (2004, 2005) and has been on the Chamber's Board of Directors since 1999. Furthermore, Dr. Roof has served on the Board of Health for 5 years running, serving as Chairman from 2006 to present.
Dr. Leski joins RBRA in 2008, trained in Family Practice and Sports Medicine. He obtained his BSc in Biology from the College of Charleston, South Carolina (1983). Dr. Leski then acquired his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (1988), and furthered his medical training with an internship in General Surgery (1989), a residency in Family Practice from The Medical Center (Columbus, GA, 1992) and a fellowship sub-specializing in Sports Medicine from the Hughston Orthopedic Clinic and Sports Medicine Hospital (Columbus, GA, 1993).
Dr. Leski is Board Certified in Family Practice (American Board of Family Practice, 1992) and has certification in Specialized Qualifications in Sports Medicine (ABFP, 2003, 2006). He is a Certified Exercise Test Technologist (American College of Sports Medicine, 1994) and holds medical licenses for the states of South Carolina and Georgia.
Dr. Leski has held many professional positions including: Director of Sports Medicine (Southland Sports Medicine & Wellness, Division of RiverstoneMD, P.C., 2005; Lexington Family Practice, Lexington, SC, 2003), Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine (University of South Carolina, School of Medicine, 1994), as well as Team Physician for professional, collegiate, local and high school level sports teams.
Dr. Leski's professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine (AMSSM).
Dr. Sabreen joins RBRA in February 2008. Dr. Sabreen did his pre-medical training at the D.J. Government of Science College in Karachi, Pakistan. He then furthered his medical training at the DOW Medical College (Karachi, Pakistan) earning his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree (1988).
Dr. Sabreen completed Internship in Internal Medicine from the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois (1993). He carried out his Residency training in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York (Buffalo, NY; 1995), followed by a sub-specialty Fellowship training in Nephrology at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA (2003).
Dr. Sabreen is a Diplomate for the American Board of Internal Medicine. He runs his own private practice in Nephrology and has held many clinical and academic positions including but not limited to: Medical Officer for the Department of Medicine, Karachi National Hospital (Pakistan); Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, State University of New York; Attending Physician, General Internal Medicine Division, Buffalo General Hospital (NY) and Hospitalist with the Lutheran Physicians Hospital Organization.
Dr. Sabreen is Board Certified in Nephrology and sub-specializes in Hypertension. He holds professional memberships with the American Society of Nephrology and National Kidney Foundation.
Dr. Issa trained at the American University of Beirut (Lebanon). He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1992 from the AUB Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Issa then acquired his medical degree (1996) from the Faculty of Medicine at AUB and furthered his training with an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine (1999). Dr. Issa continued his strong training at AUB with a Fellowship sub-specializing in Pulmonary and Critical Care (2002).
Dr. Issa is a Board Certified Internist and is currently Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Issa joins RBRA in February 2008. He brings to our research program a strong publication record, several years of clinical and basic science research, as well as professional experience as a Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine Specialist, and Pulmonologist. Dr. Issa's many research interests include but are not limited to: COPD, sleep disorder studies, hypertension and dyslipidemia.
Dr. Issa hold professional memberships with the American College of Chest Physicians (Affiliate Member), Medical Association of Georgia, American College of Sleep Medicine, and the Lebanese Order of Physicians.
Dr. Manfredi joins RBRA in March 2008. A Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) Oncologist and Hematologist, Dr. Manfredi brings over 30 years of clinical and research experience to our program.
Dr. Manfredi's medical training began at Jefferson Medical College (Philadelphia, PA) where he obtained his medical degree (1966). Dr. Manfredi's professional training continued with an Internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine (1967). He then undertook Internal Medicine Residency (1971) and Fellowship training in Hematology-Oncology (1972) at Duke University's School of Medicine (Durham, NC).
Dr. Manfredi is a Board Certified Internist, Oncologist and Hematologist and holds professional certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Hematology, American Board of Oncology, and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review. His professional memberships include the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Atlanta Oncology Associates (AOA). Dr. Manfredi's many research interests include but are not limited to Solid Tumors and Lymphomas.
Dr. Whaley joins RBRA in March 2008 as Oncology investigator. A Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) Oncologist and Hematologist, Dr. Whaley brings over 30 years of clinical and research experience to our program.
Dr. Whaley has a strong Georgia medical training pedigree having obtained his medical degree (1966) from the Medial College of Georgia (Augusta, GA), Internship (1967) and Residency (1971) training in Internal Medicine from Grady Memorial Hospital (Atlanta, GA) and a Clinical Fellowship (1972) in Hematology/Oncology from Emory University's School of Medicine (Atlanta, GA).
Dr. Whaley is a Board Certified Internist, Oncologist and Hematologist and holds professional certifications with the American Board of Internal Medicine for Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. His professional memberships include: American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology, American Society of Internal Medicine, and Clinical Oncology Association of Georgia, to name a few.
Dr. Whaley was appointed Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) in 1975. He holds teaching appointments including Assistant Clinical Professor in Hematology and Oncology at Emory University's School of Medicine, Member of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at West Paces Ferry Hospital and Attending Physician in Medical Oncology at Georgia Baptist Hospital.
Dr. Whaley holds numerous professional memberships including the AMA, Medical Association of Atlanta, Medical Association of Georgia, American Society of Internal Medicine, Clinical Oncology Association of Georgia, and more, to which he has acted as Board Member, Trustee, Chairman, President, Advisor, Medical Officer and other prestigious posts.
Dr. Whaley is the Team Internist for the Atlanta Thrashers Hockey Club, National Hockey League (NHL) and a member of the NHL Team Physicians Society.
Dr. Whaley has over 100 publications and authorships of research papers, medical columns and book chapters. His extensive clinical research experience is a great asset to our program here at RBRA.
Dr. Shaver joins RBRA in March 2008 as part of our Sports Medicine Research Program.
Dr. Shaver obtained her B.Sc. in Psychology from Duke University (Durham, NC) in 1995. Her medical degree (2001) was earned at the University of North Carolina's School of Medicine (Chapel Hill, NC). Dr. Shaver then completed an Internship in Family Medicine (2003) at Eastern Tennessee State University in Kingsport, TN and followed with Residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Shaver continued her medical training with a Fellowship in Sports Medicine from Southwest Georgia Family Medicine (Albany, GA) in 2006.
Dr. Shaver holds professional certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) and Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS). Her professional memberships include the American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Family Physicians and Georgia Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Renee Rimmer is a Georgia native. She graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1993, where she was voted the most dedicated in her class. Since that time she has practiced both with an Ophthalmology speciality practice as well as a general optometry practice in the Atlanta area.
In 2003 she opened a solo practice, Bear Eye Care located in Blue Ridge, Georgia. She is a member of the "Society of Professional Optometrists" and attends the "Southern Educational Congress of Optometry" each year to learn new technology and research regarding optometry.
Although she became a Fannin County resident in 2003, she has been visiting relatives in Blue Ridge her entire life. Her mother was born and raised in Morganton, Georgia. Her hobbies include flower gardening, piano, flute, hiking, and spending time with her husband Greg in the beautiful north Georgia mountains
David Owens, M.D. received a double major in Chemistry and Physics from Furman University in 1983. He received his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1987. Following a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Emory University, he received fellowship training in Diagnostic Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology. After serving as an Assistant Professor at Emory in Neuroradiology, Dr. Owens entered practice in the Atlanta area, ultimately forming his own Diagnostic Radiology group, specializing in Teleradiology, in 2003.
Dr. Owens is active in multiple ventures outside of Diagnostic Radiology, primarily related to medical software development. His current corporations include endeavors in RIS/ PACS, electronic medical records (EMR), worker's compensation, and medical billing.
Jacqueline Malloy joins RBRA in March 2008. Jacqueline is an advanced certified nurse practitioner with extensive experience in Trauma/Emergency Care, Primary Care, Pediatrics, Critical Care, Cardiac Care and Oncology.
Jacqueline first started studying Early Childhood Education having completed several courses towards this discipline at Marymount University (Arlington, VA). Around this time, Jacqueline took some courses related to Nursing from Morris County Community College (Randolph, NJ) where she found her calling in the field of Nursing.
Jacqueline completed an Associates in Applied Science in Nursing from the Helene Fuld School of Nursing, Camden County Community College (Blackwood, NJ) and followed it with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Graceland University (Lamoni, IA). Jacqueline furthered her training with a graduate degree in Family Nursing when she obtained her Master of Science degree in Nursing (FNP) from Graceland University.
Jacqueline served many professional posts in intensive care units (ICUs) in hospitals, as registered nurse in emergency rooms or immediate care centers and facilities. Now, Jacqueline is a fully-certified, independent practitioner who works autonomously with full prescriptive ability in the area of Urgent Primary Care and Pediatrics. She sees up to 40 patients a day with various degrees of urgency, need, care and attention. Jacqueline's many expertise, but specifically her many years of experience treating urgent care patients, is a great asset to our research program here at RBRA.
Lee Tidman is a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner (CANP) and licensed APRN (Georgia Board of Nursing) who joined RBRA in 1995. Lee trained at the College of St. Catherine (St. Paul, MN) earning her BSN degree. Lee furthered her nursing training with a Masters at St. Catherine in the Accredited Adult Nurse Practitioner program. Already with years of nursing experience, Lee's devotion to continued education took her to Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA) where she obtained her MS degree in a Nurse Practitioner program.
Lee's clinical interests include diabetes, chronic illnesses, gerontology, Women's health and health promotion. Lee is a Certified Diabetes Instructor and is the founder, co-owner and director of Riverstone Skin & Laser spa.
In her 25 years plus as CANP, Lee has acted as Receptor and Lecturer in Nurse Practitioner programs and assisted in the development of a lecture series in Cardiac Rehabilitation. Lee's role as NP educator extends to the community where she has held health clinics that focus on health maintenance and patient education. Her commitments to the community are long standing and include such services as: coordinator of a diabetes support group, senior citizens workshop, youth group mission director, cancer support group, among others.
Lee has held professional memberships with the American Heart Association Board, North Georgia Counseling Advisory Board, and North Georgia Crisis Network Board.
Marilyn Williams brings over 2 decades of healthcare experience to RBRA. She obtained her ASN from Macon College (Macon, GA) and followed this with a BSN from Georgia Southwestern College (Americus, GA) with highest distinction and a 4.0 GPA.
While working towards her BSN, Marilyn held the post of Charge/Staff ER Nurse at Sumter Regional Hospital (Americus) earning valuable experience in an emergency healthcare setting. Since then, Marilyn has held several senior positions as nurse practitioner in hospitals, clinics, medical and urgent care centers.
Camille is a certified nurse practitioner who joins RBRA in 2008. Camille obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2001 from Brenau University in Gainsville, GA. As a nursing student, she held the positions of Class Vice-President in her Junior year (2000) and of Class President her senior year (2001). Camille furthered her training as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner completing a Master of Science degree in Perinatal and Women's Health (2007) at the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing, Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA).
Camille has worked in several health care settings including: Medical/Surgical Nurse at Fannin Regional Hospital (Blue Ridge, GA), Childbirth Educator for Essentially for Women program (Gainesville, GA), Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and more recently as Clinical Instructor for North Georgia College and State University, where she instructed second year ASN nursing students through their OB, mother/baby, newborn and NICU rotation experiences.
Camille holds prestigious memberships with The National Scholars Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau and is a member of the Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. Moreover, she holds certifications for Basic Fetal Monitoring, CPR, and Neonatal Resuscitation.
Renea Yeagley joined RBRA in 2003 as study coordinator. Renea obtained her Medical Assistant training at Tampa College (Tampa, FL). She has over 20 years experience in healthcare as MA, and has an Associates in Business. Renea is IATA certified and performs study-related procedures per trial protocol in her capacity as study coordinator.
Renea's genuine and approachable nature make her liked by all her patients, and the care she offers her patients is simply outstanding.
Debra Harrelson joins RBRA March 2008 as study coordinator.
Deb has over 9 years of clinical research experience, with NIH and Pharmaceutical sponsored studies.
She has been the primarily Research Coordinator for a large NIH sponsored multicenter diabetes, hypertension, lipid trial, of which her site at the VA was one of the largest participating sites. Deb has experience in all aspects of clinical research, with high success in recruitment and retention.
Deb served in the US Army from 1979-1986, where she received training as a field medic, and obtained an associates degree from the Academy of Health Sciences (Fort Sam, TX), in Health Information Technology.
Currently, she is a member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), and working on her Certification for Clinical Research Professionals (CCRP).
Jessica Collins joins our research staff at RBRA in March 2008.
Jessica trained at Emory University's Physician Assistant (PA) Program (Atlanta, GA) graduating with Honors and a perfect 4.0 GPA. Through the PA program, Jessica earned her Master of Medical Science degree, and in the process collected awards for her special academic achievements. Prior, Jessica obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA) graduating magna cum laude with a GPA of 3.8. Jessica was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society for her academic achievements.
Jessica's professional resume includes a diverse array of specialty experience having worked for the Gastroenterology Associates of Gainesville (Gainesville, GA), Northeast Georgia Heart Center (Gainesville, GA) and settling into her current position at our Riverstone Medical Campus' Immediate Care urgent care clinic.
Jessica's professional memberships include the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA) and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).
John Greenwald is the founder, owner, manager and operator of CK Laboratories here in the Riverstone Medical Campus. John is a nationally certified Medical Technologist since 1989. He has served as chief medical technologist for our research programs' on-site laboratory needs since 2002.
John has many years of experience in directing and managing overall laboratory operations. In 1999, John served as Director of Ancillary Services, responsible for overall operational activities of the Laboratory, Radiology and Pharmacy departments at Fannin Regional Hospital (Blue Ridge, GA). Some of John's other professional experiences include: Laboratory Manager for South Carolina Oncology Associates (Columbia, SC), Independent Laboratory Consultant serving physician office laboratories in the Carolinas, Georgia and Tennessee, as well as serving in the United States Air Force Reserves in the capacity of Senior Medical Laboratory Specialist.
John serves the local community as well, coaching youth baseball and basketball, serving churches as an ordained minister/pastor, and is an honorary member of the Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout). John was inducted into the International Who's Who in Medical Management, and has received numerous military awards and decorations, as well as early rank promotions, for exhibited workmanship, productivity, communication, counseling, instructor and leadership skills.
Carol Thomas has been assisting with RBRA's on-site laboratory needs since 2002. Carol serves as Assistant Chief Technologist for CK Laboratories.
Carol brings invaluable experience in laboratory services, having trained and served in various laboratory capacities, though primarily as medical technologist, chief technologist and manager. Her former professional experience includes a long standing (25 years) service as Chief Technologist and Lab Manager for Fannin Regional Hospital (Blue Ridge, GA) and Medical Technologist for Copper Basin Medical Center (TN).
